Elzie K. Williams, age 67 passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his home in Blanchard. Elzie was born on December 13, 1950 in Ionia, MI to Elzie and Verna (Potter) Williams. Following his marriage to Carol Ann Veenstra, on August 6, 1971, he made his home in Lowell before moving to Blanchard in 1990. Elzie was an avid hunter, fisherman and a lousy cook. He was easy to talk to and often willing to give advice. He had a few popular sayings that include "you dont get mad, you get even" and the other one isnt appropriate for an obituary :). Elzie was dedicated to his family and adored his grandchildren, family and friends. Elzie is survived by his children; Jody and Loretta Williams and Sheila Williams all of Blanchard; five grandchildren; Ashley Williams, Samantha and Jarrod Fate, Jacob Williams, Breylan Williams and Lilly Backus; two great-grandchildren; Ryvers Fate and Braiden Baker, with two on the way; siblings, Cindy Karcher, Kirk Williams and Lavant "Stub" and Patty Williams, his cat, Skitz and many, nieces, nephews and close extended family & friends. Elzie was preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2009; mother-in-law, Ethel Morris; his dog B.A. and his parents. The family will welcome friends on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Memorial contributions in Elzies name can be made to the Daggett Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
