Ellen Alberta Sanger age 77 of Evart, formerly of Barryton, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born in Carson City on March 26, 1932 to Carsel and Norabell (Curtis) Dow. Ellen was a dedicated member of the Barryton Rebekah Lodge #77 for numerous years. She enjoyed crafting, bead work, crocheting, ceramics and quilting when she was younger. Ellen was the matriarch of the family and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her loving husband Dale Sanger of Evart, one son George Lindsey of Farwell and four daughters; Ann Sedell of Lake, Nancie (Jim) Gilliland of Springfield, Missouri, Marcia (Brad) Scarbrough of Marion, Rhonda (Mike) Stepp of Barryton, twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellen was the last survivor of 17 children born to Carsel and Norabell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Charles Lindsey. Funeral services for Ellen will take place 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Tom Doherty officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery in Barryton. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior services on Tuesday at the Daggett Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Ellen's name can be made to the Barryton Rebekahs.
