Ella Mae "Blondie" VanSyckle, age 78, of Barryton, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at her home. She was born May 6, 1929 in Chippewa Lake, to William and Effie (Wixon) Norris and a lifelong resident of the area. She married Lewis K. VanSyckle in Grand Rapids, May 9, 1947. Ella was employed by the Mt. Pleasant Center for 20 years and retired in 1986. She is survived by her loving children: Carl (Tami) of Florida Michael (Julie) of Barryton Paul (Carrie) of Barryton Burnadette Makersie of Weidman Mary (Ryan) Hamilton of Lake Isabella And Tina VanSyckle of Lake Isabella One sister Laura Friend of Alma, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a third soon to be born. Besides her parents Ella was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lewis in 1986, one brother and two sisters. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Reverend Ron Vredeveld officiating. Interment will be in Flake Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7th. Memorials in Ella's name may be made to St. Jude's or Hospice.
