Elizabeth L. "Betty" Preston, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the age of 86. She was born on May 17, 1929 in Durand, Michigan to Ronald and Agnes (Boehnlein) Delehanty. Betty graduated from Durand High School in 1947. On July 13, 1949 she married Robert Preston and they raised their family in Durand and Grand Blanc before making Chippewa Lake their home in 1968. From 1968 to 1973 Betty and Robert owned and operated B&B Grocery in Chippewa Lake. Betty was always busy taking care of people and lending a helping hand. She is survived by two sons, James of Flushing and Michael of Chippewa Lake; two daughters, Carla (Foster) Vredenburg of Chippewa Lake and Mary Sisco of Rodney; two brothers, Lloyd and Daniel Delehanty; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many step and extended family members and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; an infant son Mark Preston, a brother Mark Delehanty and great-granddaughter, Samantha Rose. Cremation has taken place and her family is planning a private time of remembrance at a later date. Memorial contributions in Betty's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
