Elizabeth R. Oestreich, age 79 of Canadian Lakes, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008 at her home. She was born September 25, 1929. Elizabeth retired from Chrysler Corporation and had made her home at Canadian Lakes for nearly 12 years. She is survived by 4 cousins; Jessie Laidlaw of Scotland, Rita Laidlaw of Winnipeg, Canada, Ruth Stephens and Huwald G. Hagendorff both of Mecosta and a sister-in-law, Ingeborg McDonald of Arizona. Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Harald O. Oestreich and a sister Rita. Private memorial services will take place at a later date in Traverse City. Memorial contributions in Elizabeth's name may be made to the Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Mecosta. Envelopes may be obtained at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
