Elizabeth "Lizz" Marion Korb, 85, of Canadian Lakes, MI, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Mecosta, MI. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Big Rapids, MI with Reverend Jerry Switzer officiating. The family will greet friends between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are by Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Elizabeth "Lizz" was born in Birmingham, England to her Scottish parents Alexander and Marion. Lizz attended Bury St. Edmunds and Edinburgh College. She married Jack Korb on 4/11/70 in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Lizzs amazing work history includes: Being a chef in London, A stewardess for BOAC (British Airways), Personal assistant to world renowned hair stylist Vidal Sassoon, Raced cars on the British MG circuit, And was a TV/Radio gardening celebrity "The Plant Lady" (including WDIV/NBC Detroit and appearances on the Oprah Winfrey show). Lizz was also a very successful womens clothing store owner. She assisted with the Red Cross during WW2 in Britain and later served in the Womens Royal Airforce. Lizz was involved in many clubs, organizations and charities throughout the years (Gardening, Red Hat Society, Theatre Group, Bowling/Golf, etc.). She received many honors and awards for her wonderfully unselfish, caring, loving and giving ways. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father Alexander and mother Marion. Lizz is survived by husband Jack; sons, Paul, Pete and Chris; daughter Leslie; granddaughter Brenna, and great-granddaughter Birdie. Memorials may be given to the Michigan Humane Society.
