Elena L. "Babe" Dillree, 89, of Stanwood, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. Elena was a proud 1953 graduate of Godwin High School, where she met the love of her life, James "Big Jim" Dillree. They were married on June 26, 1953, and together raised seven children in Wyoming, Michigan.

Elena is survived by her seven children, 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her son-in-law Jim Zielinski, daughter-in-law Julia Dillree, grandchild: Cecilia Dillree and great grandchild: Grayson Dillree.

In the years following their marriage, Elena and Jim purchased a home and property in Stanwood, where they created many cherished memories with family, enjoying boating, camping, and trips to Brower Park. Elena's love for life extended to her passions for gardening, puzzles, and spending time with her family, all of which brought her joy.

A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Elena's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
