Eleanor I. Fenstermacher, age 90 of Paris, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at her home. She was born June 5, 1920 in Norwich Township, Newaygo County the daughter of Earl and Amy (McDonald) Stoner. Eleanor was a graduate of Big Rapids High School. She married M. Dale Fenstermacher in 1938. They made their home in Green Township where together they owned and operated a dairy and beef farm for over 35 years. They also established "Fenstermacher's Sales and Service" offering farm and garden, tools and equipment. Eleanor and Dale lived at the same location in Green Township for 53 years. Most recently Eleanor had made her home on the Muskegon River in Paris. She was a member of the Third Avenue United Methodist Church in Big Rapids. Eleanor will be forever remembered by her loving family; including her son Don (Myrna) Fenstermacher of Belmont; 2 daughters, Nancy (Jim) Randall of Big Rapids, Marilyn (Christopher) Bergelin of Morganton, NC; 9 grandchildren, Bruce (Kim) Fenstermacher, Angela (Todd) Mulder, Daniel (Alyssa) Fenstermacher, Michelle (Greg) Clark, Elizabeth Gallardo, Jamie (Ken Ishman) Randall, Amyee (David) Carson, Jennifer (David) Chaney, Thaddeus (Amy) Bergelin; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Besides her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Dale on February 24, 1991, a daughter Carol Gallardo; a brother Dutch Stoner and 2 sisters, Mary and Leona Wilson. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30th at the Third Avenue United Methodist Church in Big Rapids with Pastor Mike Riegler officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids and also at the Church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Spring interment will be at West Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Eleanor's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
