Eldora "Dolly" Lile, age 84 of Big Rapids passed away peacefully, Tuesday March 4, 2014 at her home. She was born September 6, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois the daughter of Emery and Winnie (Taylor) Adleman. Dolly married Arthur Lile; together they owned and operated the Bungalow Restaurant in Big Rapids for many years. Dolly later worked as a cook at Ferris State University, retiring after 15, years. Dolly enjoyed volunteering in the community with various activities including, driving for the Commission on Aging and volunteering time with a local youth center. She was a member of the AmVets, the American Legion and the Eagles. Dolly loved playing Euchre and played at least three days a week. Dolly will be remembered for her boisterous laugh, her love for life and her dedication to her family and friends; no birthday ever went unnoticed. She will be forever missed by her loving family and friends, including her three children; Ralph (Rosalie) Lile of Stanwood, Priscilla (Ernie) Smith of Big Rapids, Wayne Lile of Durango, Co; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three brothers, Floyd (Maria) Adleman of Mason, Art Adleman of Big Rapids, Duane (Joyce) Adleman of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Arthur in 1983. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ron White officiating. The family will greet friends, at the funeral home, on Friday, March 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 1:00 p.m. (service time). Spring interment will be at West Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions given in Dolly's memory will be divided among several of her favorite charities.
