Eldon Hayden age 59 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 following a hard fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Eldon was born October 2, 1962 in Owosso, Michigan, the son of Lewis Burt and Viola Frances (McColley) Hayden. Eldon started his professional career in farming and landscaping after completing middle school. Developing a strong work ethic at a young age and growing his attention to details helped in his profession as a groundskeeper for a local golf course. Eldon was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed the wilderness and spent as much time as he could hunting, fishing, splitting wood, and mowing the lawn. Only Eldon could mow the lawn and made sure no one else did as long as he was around. Eldon was caring and best known for his great sense of humor. He also took great pride in the work he did at the golf course making sure the grounds were as pristine as possible. Eldon shared many of his happiest moments with his loving wife of the past seven years, Linda (Hamilton) Hayden. Eldon will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Linda (Hamilton) Hayden. He is survived by his step-son, Derek Williams, and step-daughter, Linda (Richard) Bielicki. His sisters, Lila (Steve) Warner, Dorothy Ingersol, Shawn (David) McGuire, and Violet; brother Loyd Hayden. Eldons grandchildren Nathan and Marcie McGuire, and Ronald Giese III. Several nieces and nephews. Eldons former boss, Chad Currie and two loving puppies, T-Bone "Bones" and Missy. Eldon was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lewis Burt and Viola Frances Hayden; his brother Frank Hayden. No public services have been arranged at this time.
