Eldon J. Groh, age 69 of Lake, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home. He was born May 2, 1941 in Port Huron, the son of Delford and Violet (Minnick) Groh. Eldon married the former Susan B. Kenyon of October 23, 1993 in Bentonville, Arkansas, where they lived for 21 years. They returned to Michigan in 2003 to make their home. Eldon is survived by his loving wife, Susan of Lake; children, Debra (Don) Peffier of Pineville, MO, Edward Groh of Port Huron, Robert Groh of Rogers, Ark., Wallace (Tina) Threet of Gentry, Ark., Eldon Ray (Edna) Groh of Lake, Marlene (John) Carter of Siloam Springs, Ark., Wanda (Benard) Gay of Palo, MI, Beth Ann (Grant) Cummings of Rogers, Ark.; brothers and sisters Velma Parker of Farwell, Edmond "E.J." Groh of Lake, MI, Betty (Don) Issac of Port Huron, Truman (Judith) Groh of Port Huron, Robert (Eunice) Groh of Big Rapids, Violet (Alonzo) Groh of Big Rapids, Carol (Robert) Craven of Blanchard, Mary (William) Eaton of Stanwood, Armond (Patty) Groh of Evart; many grandchildren, including his special grandson, Dakota Groh, living at home with Eldon and Susan; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Eldon was preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline Durham and brothers & sisters. A memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21st at the Weidman Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Willard officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
