Edward C. Majewski, age 77 of Paris, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, December 18, 2008. He was born November 4, 1931 in Homer City, Pennsylvania and as a child moved to Hamtramck. Edward was honorably discharged from the United States Air force after serving in England and Norway. He married Barbara Ann Schrodt on October 10, 1953 in Detroit. Together they made their home in Redford Township and raised eleven children in the house that Edward built. He was employed by Redford Union Schools as a bus driver and custodian for over 25 years. Edward also owned and operated Edward's Landscaping. Following his retirement Ed and Barb moved to their home in Paris, MI where they have lived for over 10 years. Edward was an active and devout member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Paris where he made many wonderful and dear friends. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and bird watching. Edward always took care of everything and everyone; he was a very loving man and father who was most proud of his eleven children. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara A. Majewski of Paris, ten children; Meta Winn, Edward Majewski, Marty (Cindy) Majewski, Anna (Clay) Hall, Mary (Manny) Cervantes, Beth (Adrian) Lyman, Paul (Chris) Majewski, Stephan Majewski, Daniel Majewski and Barbarajean Majewski, 17 grandchildren; Erica, Erin, Benjamin, Molly, Brad, Taylor, Brandon, Alejandro, Liana, Angelo, Isabel, Elena, Robert, David, Mary, Matthew and Kyle, His mother; Catherine Majewski A brother Joseph Majewski and several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Majewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd at St. Anne Catholic Church in Paris (23949 22 Mile Road, Paris, Mich. 49338) with Father Loc Trinh officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Burial will be at St. Anne Cemetery near Paris. In lieu of flowers, Edward specifically requested that Masses be said on his behalf.
