Edward "Eddie" Joseph Doerr, age 62 of Remus, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Big Rapids. Eddie was born on June 24, 1952 in Lakeview, the son of Charles "Chuck" and Elenor (Doyle) Doerr. He was raised in the Mecosta area and made his home in Remus. Eddie always worked outside for his career. He enjoyed the outdoors; watching birds and deer and doing yard work and gardening. Eddie loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Holly (Willard) Flowers of Remus and Lacy Holmes of Barryton; a grandson, Trenton Tirban; three brothers, Larry (Fran) Doerr of Mecosta, Gene Doerr of Mecosta and Jim Doerr of CA; a sister, Karen (Mark) McKenzie of Mecosta; many nieces and nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Patty Doerr. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time the service starts at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
