Obituary

Edward L. Aemisegger, age 79 of Stanwood formerly of Comstock Park, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his home. He was born January 13, 1936 in Stanwood, the son of Merle and Rozella (Gillmore) Aemisegger. Ed graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1954. He was a truck driver for many years. Ed married Margie Dale Carr and together they made their home in Pennsylvania and eventually moved to Comstock Park. Tragically, Margie passed at a young age; Ed began a new chapter in his life marrying Sandra McCardle. They continued to reside in Comstock Park until they retired and moved to Stanwood. Ed enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and bird watching. He loved spending time with his family. Ed is survived by his wife, Sandra of Stanwood; children, Laurie (Dave) Swain of Hastings, Carolyn (Jeff) McCardle of Morley, Lesley (Phil) Korhorn of Washington State, Shari Wilson of Wyoming, Rochel (Chris) Barnes of Cedar Springs, Ivan (Cindy) McCardle of Stanwood; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Linda Lu Briere of CA, Leslie Jarvi of Marquette, Kyle Aemisegger of Ortonville and Karla (Joel) Cornea of Ortonville; many nieces, nephews and an aunt, Hazel Johanson of Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Margie Dale Aemissegger. Funeral services will take place 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Gerald Switzer officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10th and one hour prior to services on Friday. Ed will be laid to rest at Higbee Cemetery in Morley. Memorial contributions may be made in Ed's name to the family.
