Edmund A. Byrnes, age 76, of Big Rapids passed away at home with his family at his side on August 21, 2024. Ed was born May 24, 1948 in Big Rapids the son of Maurice and Agnes (Zimmerman) Byrnes. Ed was a member of the Big Rapids Eagles and worked at Western Concrete for 28 years. He loved to hunt and fish and very much enjoyed playing and making memories with his grandkids and great grandkids. Ed is survived by his children; Kathy Byrnes (Brian Spedoski), Maria Byrnes, John (Amy) Byrnes, Marty (Colleen) Byrnes and Steve Hansen; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Maureen Debski; brother, Denny (Louise) Byrnes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Byrnes; the mother of his children, Regena; brothers, Daniel "Jim" Byrnes, Matt Byrnes; infant sister, Mary Trese Byrnes. Per Eds wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Luncheon is being held on Saturday, September 14 at 2:00 pm at the Big Rapids Eagles, 18361 16 Mile Rd, Big Rapids.
