Duane Gilbert Wright, age 71 of Morley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was the oldest son born on June 29, 1948 in Fremont, to Ernest and Delores (Weeks) Wright. Duane enjoyed doing anything with mechanics, traveling and being on the road. He was easy going and laid back. If there was a child in his presence he was pestering them. Duane is survived by fiance of five years, Wayvann Cheeseman of Morley; children, Jason Wright of Newaygo, Sandy Eckels of Morley, Wendy Wright Papke of Howard City, Teri (Mark) Moser of Morley, Duanna (J. Griffes) Wright of Morley; siblings, Dorothy (Robin) Verscheuren, Dian (Al) Ambler, Dawn (Jeff Tompkins) Anderson, Donald (Sandra) Wright and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Theresa Wright; son, Duane Wright and his best friend, Rocky, his Chihuahua, eleven days prior. Memorial contributions in Duane's name can be made to Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, in Big Rapids where cremation took place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Luther Bible Church, 1018 230th Ave., Newaygo.
