Dowayne Earl Fifield, age 71 of Remus, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born March 23, 1947 in Muskegon, the son of Floyd and Lorena (Saboe) Fifield. Dowayne was adopted by Mary and Clyde Emmons and raised by foster parents Margaret and Robert Kirvan. His upbringing reminded him that life isn't always easy but it is what you make of it. Dowayne resided in Lansing for several years before returning back to Barryton where he was raised.

Dowayne was a loyal friend and treasured the time he had with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around with stuff. If Dowayne could lend a helping hand he would. He was actively involved with the Barryton Fire Department for 20 years and in the community when his health would allow. He was formerly employed with Applegate Insulation and later Fifields Insulation.

His memory and legacy will be carried on by his children: Carole Fifield of Barryton, Dewayne (Sonja) Fifield of Lake, Rita (Travis) Bentley of Barryton, Dawn (Frankie) Hunt of Weidman, Margaret (Jim) Palmer of Weidman, April Fifield of Lake; step-daughter, Kathryn (Ed) Fisher of Barryton; adopted brother, Eddie Bobrowski of Big Rapids; the mothers of his children, Carol Smith and Susan Dake; seventeen grandchildren, Kevin, Tyler, Chelsea, Hunter, Duncan, Dusty, Darcy, Hazel, Cody, Daisy, Hope, Cole, Bethany, Cordoba, Tony, Angel and one on the way, Faith; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Mariah and Elora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lloyd "Buddy" Fifield, William "Bill" Fifield, Alden "Gene" Fifield, Donna Oliver, Mary Lou Harper and Bonnie Bobrowski.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with the family greeting friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Dowayne will be laid to rest at Flake Cemetery in Barryton.
