Doug Shepard, 78, of Mecosta, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1947, in Grand Ledge, Michigan, the son of William and Joyce (Reed) Shepard.

Doug dedicated much of his life to the cement masonry business. From his early years pouring concrete to later driving trucks for Max's Concrete, he took pride in his hard work and craftsmanship.

On November 2, 1985, he married Cheryl Tice, who preceded him in death in 2016.

Doug had a passion for adventure and thrills. He loved deer hunting and ice fishing, always seeking excitement in the great outdoors. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed bowling, softball, golf, and billiards, relishing both the competition and camaraderie. Weekends were spent watching NASCAR races with family and friends, a tradition he truly cherished.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Carl) Lindsey and Jennifer Morrison; grandchildren, Chelsea Rehkopf, Brittani Morrison, Keri Dennis, and Kyle Shepard; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve Shepard, Derek Shepard, Sue Shepard, Diane Scofield, Charlie Bonham, and Glenda Johansen; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; his parents; his stepmother, Kathleen Shepard; his sons, Jon Shepard and Willard Shepard; and his sisters, Sherry Rush, Beth Riley, and Amy Strong.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Fork Township Community Center in Barryton.
