Dorothy J. Perkins, age 80 of Reed City, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was born October 7, 1929 in Plymouth Township, MI the daughter of Floyd and Bertha (Hazen) Schroeder. Dorothy married Daniel D. Perkins Sr. on February 7, 1948. They made their home and raised their family in Walled Lake, MI, moving to the Reed City area over 35 years ago. She is survived by 8 children, Mary (Ken McClelland) Green, Elizabeth (Raymond) Joras, Daniel (Glenna) Perkins Jr., James (Sue) Perkins, Jane (Dale) Norman, Bertha (Alan) Kuehl, William (Trena) Perkins, and David (Mendy) Perkins; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald "Butch" (Louise) Schroeder, Leon Schroeder; a sister, Geraldine Peirce and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years on March 25, 2009, two brothers, Bud and Bob Schroeder and two sisters, Mary Jane Schroeder and Shirley Basset. Graveside memorial services will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19th at the Davenport Cemetery in Barton Township with Pastor Devlyn Kuehl officiating.
