Obituary

Dorothy Mae Navarre, age 88, formerly of Barryton passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Alma. She was born August 29, 1917 in Coldwater Township to Andrew and Maude (Denslow) Letson. Dorothy graduated from Weidman High School in 1934 and married J. Allen Navarre April 2, 1938. She worked side by side with her husband as bookkeeper and office manager at their Ford dealership in Barryton for 30 years. In retirement she enjoyed 16 winters in the Florida Keys and 18 years in the Bradenton, Florida area, where she made many dear friends. Dorothy was active in civic duties and was involved in several organizations including; the Barryton Rebekah Lodge #77 and was a life member of the Waubenoo Chapter No. 360 of the Eastern Stars of Weidman. She actively supported the Barryton Band Boosters, the Barryton FHA, and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Dorothy was a great mentor to her children and partner to her husband. She was an eager and enthusiastic participant with the many fishing expeditions and travel with Allen over the years. She possessed a gift for cooking, love of nature, and an appreciation for music. Dorothy was a loving person, always there for family and friends. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her children: Sherry and David Holmes of Dunnellon, FL, Jim and Sharon Navarre of Alma, Linda and Brian Rysberg of Traverse City, Brenda and Leonard Insalaco of Chester, MD and Gun and Par Forsberg of Sweden. Grandchildren: Brenda and Mitch Jackson, Michael and Tami Navarre, Laura Mc Carthy, Paul Johnston, Mark and Kelly Rysberg, Erica Rysberg, Mikahla Insalaco. Great-grandchildren: David Jackson, Jordan McCarthy, Sydney McCarthy, Bailey McCarthy, Brooke Johnston, Gabriel Navarre, Andrew Rysberg. Sister-in-law: Helen Lehnert, Niece: Pam Owen, Nephews: Ted Letson and Steve Letson. Besides her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Allen on April 13, 2006 and one brother Dale Letson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor John Mellish officiating. Burial will be at North Brinton Cemetery in Lake. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
