Dorothy E. Binert, age 59 of Bitely, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at her home. She was born August 18, 1949 in Wayne County, MI to Oscar and Margaret (Voden) Olson. Dorothy was a graduate of Saint Gabriel's High School in Detroit and was raised in Dearborn Heights. She married and raised her family in Allen Park. Dorothy's working career lasted over 44 years. She had always been a dedicated, honest and generous employee. Dorothy retired from Plumb's Market in 2008 after 13 years of service. A lover of the outdoors and all the animals and birds nature brought to her yard; Dorothy had appreciated and enjoyed her home in Bitely. She took great pleasure entertaining family and friends at home and especially during hunting season. She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew; her daughter, Rhonda (Jeff) Severson of Big Rapids; 3 step-daughters, Robin (Steve) Diamond of Royal Oak, Tammy Ivison of Royal Oak, Nanette (Russell) Tournay of Mobile, AL; step-son, Andrew Paul Binert II of San Diego, CA; 17 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; 3 brothers, David Olson of Royal Oak, Richard (Nanette) Olson of Crestview, FL, Kenneth (Mary) Olson of Wayne, MI; 3 sisters, Marie McGuffie of Canadian Lakes, Kathleen (Mike) Lamarand of Dearborn Heights, Sharon (Gary) Staats of Taylor, beloved members of the Binert family and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Herrando and a brother, Jimmy Olson. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9878 US 10, Evart with Father Ron Schneider officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, March 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday March 2nd from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
