Doris E. Rehkopf, age 84 of Paris, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008. She was born November 1, 1924 in Hersey the daughter of Louis and Mabel (Charbonneau) Owens. Doris graduated from Hersey High School in 1942. She married Norman Rehkopf on July 16, 1946 in Reed City. They made their home in Paris most of their married life. Doris was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. In her quiet times, Doris was an avid reader and liked the challenge of completing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her loving family including her 6 children, Scott Rehkopf of Hersey, Norma Waddell of St. Clair Shores, Meg (Donald) Belyea of Traverse City, Lisa (Carl) Winger of Huntington, CT, Sally (Paul) Fredrickson of Marshfield, MA and Amy (Brit) Eaton of Toledo, OH, Ten Grandchildren, One Great-granddaughter, A sister, Elinor Chilcote of Reed City and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Norman on May 11, 2002, her sister, Nola Fabian and 2 brothers, Rex and Dale Owens. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend Dave Dickinson officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Crapo Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Doris's name may be given to Heartland Hospice.
