Doris Marjorie Newlove, age 88, passed away June 8, 2008 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born June 5, 1920 in Wayne County to Clarence and Gertrude (Wright) Smith. She married George Newlove in Detroit on July 19, 1941. Doris is survived by her daughter: Shirley (Bill) Rizor of Sears, grandchildren: David (Luann) Newlove of Sand Lake, Brian (Melissa) Hurst of Chicago, Ill, Kathy (Miguel) Galley of New Mexico (formerly of Evart), Jeffrey Newlove of Big Rapids, Sean Newlove of Tecumseh, Jennifer (John) Ososki of Big Rapids and great grandchildren; Debra, Julia, Charlie, Rachael, Thomas, Denise, Bryton, Brady, Emma, Ryan, Mackenzie and Brody. Besides her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband George in 1982, sister; Lehla Weaver, daughter; Linda Lee Newlove, son; Jeffrey and wife Barbara Newlove, granddaughter; Debbie Newlove and stepson John Newlove. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Memorial donations in Doris's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
