Doris E. (Christiansen) Konrad died December 20, 2021 in Big Rapids at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignatius J. Konrad Sr. and son Mark C. Konrad. She is survived by her son Ignatius (Iggy) Konrad, Jr. (Cindy); daughter-in-law Donna Konrad; grandchildren Karin Konrad and Andrew Konrad (Zoe); great grandchildren Victor and Rosie Konrad. Doris and her husband were teachers in the Lansing Public School System after graduating from Michigan State University. They chose to retire in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Doris was a wonderful water color artist. She was a founding member and board member of Artworks in Big Rapids. Many of her paintings have been displayed in the Artworks gallery and around the country. As an active community member she participated in many other service groups wherever she lived. Friends are invited to a visitation to meet the family on December 27, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. A family memorial service will be held in the summer of 2022 in Harbor Springs. Memorial donations can be made to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging Transportation or St. Judes Childrens Hospital. According to CDC guidelines masks are required at the visitation.
