Doreen (Ranshaw) Western age 68 of Williamston formerly of Barryton, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at her daughter's home in Sears. She was born in Barryton on December 22, 1941 to Clell and Anna (Westra) Ranshaw. She has spent the last 30 years in Williamston and was recently retired from the State of Michigan. Doreen enjoyed most games and games of chance. She was an avid gardener and liked wood working and puzzles. Doreen loved her coffee and sitting down with a good book. She lived for her family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. Doreen is survived by the children she adored. Clair (Naomi Ramsey) Wethy of Haslett, Renee Witchell and her children Shawna and Gary of Oceanside, California, Teri Henner and her daughter Kristen of Laingsburg, Luci (Jeff) Jarvis and their daughter Audrie "Punkie" of Sears, Leo Western II of Williamston, one sister Bev (Dale) Graber, four brothers; Don (Pat) Ranshaw, Elwin "Sonny" (Doris) Ranshaw, Dale Ranshaw, Max (Shirley) Ranshaw and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Karen Johnson and Ethel Miehlke and a son in law Keith Henner. Cremation has taken place through the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Haslett Community Church.
