Donna E. Stine, age 90 of Stanwood, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 10, 2013 at home. She was born June 12, 1922 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Harrison and Rachel (Huffman) DeMott. Donna graduated from Mecosta High School. She married Sidney Stine on August 23, 1941 in Adamsville, MI. In 1950 Donna and Sidney moved to Stanwood to live and raise their family. She was a member of the Remus Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 54 years. Donna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and to many of her great-grandchildren as "Gramma Candy" . She spent her life caring for her family. She is survived by three children; Marsha (Dave) Fountain of Stanwood, Steve (Jan) Stine of Dewitt, Chari (Gary) Nixon of Big Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Doug DeMott of Stanwood; sister Arvilla Pontius of Edwardsburg, MI; several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sidney E. Stine on January 4, 2012, 4 brothers and 6 sisters. She will also be greatly missed by three people the family couldn't have done without, her caregivers, Harvey Mourer, his mother, Pat and little coloring buddy, Paisley. A private family service will be held Saturday, March 16th. Memorial contributions in Donna's name may be made to Heartland Hospice. Envelopes may be obtained through the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
