Donna Jean Slee, 71, of Mecosta/ Tubbs Lake, passed into the loving arms of her Savior, on June 30, 2014 in Big Rapids. She born in Lansing on August 31, 1942 to Allen and Lucille (Duncklee) Trowbridge and was the youngest of seven children. Donna graduated from Eastern High School in 1960 and married Thomas L. Slee on November 12, 1960 in Lansing where they made their home and raised their family. Donna and Tom have enjoyed their home on Tubbs Lake the last 8 years. Donna was an excellent fisherman that loved animals, she was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. Donna looked forward to watching Tigers baseball and a good football game. With true Spartan pride "Sparty On". Donna will be remembered by the family she treasured: her beloved husband of 53 years, Thomas Slee of Mecosta; three sons, Matthew (Sherra) Slee of Springport, Paul (Theresa) Slee of LaGrange, IN, Thomas W. (Kathryn) Slee of Olivet; three siblings Pat (Don) Starkweather, Lucille Simon, Bob (Marie) Trowbridge; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Lucille; a son Rodney in 2000; siblings, Don and Gordon Trowbridge and Alice Dodge. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with the family greeting friends one hour prior from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
