Donna Jean Merrill, age 52 of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday January 4, 2011 at Spectrum Health Reed City Campus. She was born March 16, 1958 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Norman and Norma Jean (Kailing) Merrill. Donna was raised and graduated from high school in Cassopolis. She lived most of her adult life in the Big Rapids area. Donna worked for Munson Home Health for nearly 20 years. She loved her job and most recently had been working out of the Reed City office. She is survived by her parents, Norman and Norma Merrill of Big Rapids; 3 brothers, Jack (Tammy) Merrill of Nebo, KY, Douglas (Nanette) Merrill of Pierceton, IN, Gary Merrill of Madison, WI; 3 sisters, Susan (Thomas) Stahl of Portage, Jennifer (Reginald) Norris of Big Rapids, Paula (James) Weipert of Big Rapids; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from work. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 7th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids with Father Lam T. Le officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
