Donna L. Garbow, age 92 of Morley, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Metron of Big Rapids. She was born September 9, 1920 in Fruitport, the daughter of Howard and Merry (Kipp) Rickerd. Donna graduated from the Morley High School. She married Donald on November 18, 1941 in Stanwood. Together they raised their family in Morley. Donna worked for the Farm Service Agency in Mecosta County for 30 years until she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, shopping, flower gardening and watching humming birds. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Richard (Carolyn) Garbow of Morley; her grandchildren, Karen (Charlie) Ouellette of Howard City and Kevin (Deanna) Garbow of Morley; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Devin Garbow and Aubrey Ouellette; a sister-in-law, Esther Garbow of Stanwood; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Garbow on March 2, 2000; an infant son, Dennis and her parents. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Bill Routley officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Donna's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the MS Society.
