Donna Mae Finkbeiner, 80, of Paris, Michigan passed away on May 10, 2008 at her home with her loving family at her bedside. She was born May 14, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married Chris C. Finkbeiner of Reed City on August 19, 1950. They made their home in the Big Rapids area and lived on their farm in Paris, Michigan for over fifty years. They wintered in Country Aire Village Park, Zephyrhills, Florida for many years. Donna worked at Wolverine World Wide and drove school bus for both Big Jackson and Pineview Schools. She also volunteered at the "Old Jail" Teen Center in the "70's. Donna was an avid hunter, quilter, and loved a good yard and estate sale. She was also a former business owner of a consignment shop and an antique store. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde B. and Orah (Chapman) Hoffman, a sister Hazel Johnson and a daughter-in-law Julie Finkbeiner. In addition to being survived by her husband she has six children: John G. (Lori) Finkbeiner of Baldwin, Karen E. (Robert) Youngs of Reed City, Diana L. (Michael) Ropele of Howard City, Christine K. (Thomas) Hurst of Mesa, AZ, Deborah A. O'Shea of Menifee, CA, and Susan M. (James) Brown of Big Rapids. She was very proud of her sixteen grandchildren: and 25 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild: John (Stacia) Finkbeiner, Cynthia (Carl) Glazier, Marty (Angie) Richards, Janel DePew, Melanie (Gary Stoner) Buffin , Teri (Jeff) Ouderkirk, Chris Underhill, Holly Hurst, Tom (Aida) Hurst, Tim (Crystal) Hurst, Hayley (Adam) Gibbons, Christopher Cook, Andy Cook, Tyler Cook, James "Luke" Brown, and Jake (Crystal) Brown, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild: She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends especially Isabel Smith and Agnes Mangler who she considered treasured friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home 13985 Northland Drive; Big Rapids, on May 17, 2008 with family visitation at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Michigan.
