Donna B. Doyle age 86, of Chippewa Lake, formerly of Lansing, passed away peacefully, March 14, 2007at her son Patrick Doyle's home. She was born March 17, 1920 in Lansing, the daughter of Sylvester and Velma (Shattuck) McAvoy. Donna graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1939. She made her home in Lansing until moving to Chippewa Lake in 1974. Donna loved to square dance. She belonged to the Chippewa Squaws and Chiefs, the Canadian Lakes Square Dance Club and she loved country music. Donna is survived by her loving family, including; Children: Darlene (Douglas) Price of Williamston Thomas (Kathy) Doyle of Leslie Patrick (Susan) Doyle of Chippewa Lake Grandchildren: Tracy Price, Michelle (Richard) Archbold, Kenneth (fiance, Tasha Showers) Doyle and Cole Doyle. Great-Grandchildren; James Archbold and Nevaeh Branson and many dear friends, especially including the Jones and Summers families. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 1:30 p.m. Saturday March 17th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1009 Marion Ave. in Big Rapids with Father Lam T. Le officiating. Spring burial will be at Chippewa Lake Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Friday, March 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church. A vigil service will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. The family request's memorial contributions, in Donna's memory, be made to Mecosta County Commission on Aging "Meals on Wheels" as a way of saying thank you to this caring organization.
