Donald E. Weeks age 79, a lifelong resident of Morley, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at his home. He was born October 7, 1934 in Morley, the son of Burrell and Frances "Retta" (Stilson) Weeks. Don married Beverly Beemer on March 20, 1954 in Cedar Springs and together they raised their family in Morley. He was employed by Denton Motors in Cedar Springs until he opened Don Weeks' Body Shop. Don later started Donald E. Weeks Incorporated, his trucking company. He drove his own truck until 1996, when he was no longer able. Don then went back to repairing and selling cars until 2010. He enjoyed trucks, telling stories, traveling with his kids and watching them compete in truck pulls and spending time in the garage where he offered his words of wisdom and shared "Donaldisms'. Don loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly of Morley; his children, Donald Lee (Carol) Weeks of Morley, Diane Thomas and her husband Thomas Cox of Stanwood, Duane (Jamie) Weeks of Stanwood, Darrell Weeks of Morley and Dana Myers of Morley; his grandchildren, Tabatha Sanford, Travis Weeks, Keith (Sylvia) Allen, Ryan Allen, Alicia Weeks, Devin Weeks, Tiffini (fianc Collin Prescott) Weeks, Katie Lynn Wilber, Canon Myers and Waylon Myers; 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his dog Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence "Flick" (Ruth) Weeks, Lloyd (Gretchen) Weeks; an infant sister, Doris Weeks; a granddaughter, Shelbie Loretta Weeks; two nephews, Lloyd J. Weeks and Larry Weeks. Funeral services are planned for 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with visitation one hour prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. (noon). The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26th at the funeral home.
