Donald E. Seaborn, Sr., a lifelong resident of Big Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the age of 83. Don was born August 1, 1937, the son of Eugene and Jennie (Reid) Seaborn. He graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1956. Don served as Assistant Chief of Police of Big Rapids for over 20 years. He loved baseball and softball; especially playing on the fastpitch league. He umpired High School and Little League games and played softball in the Fourth of July Old Timers tournament. Don was also part of a bowling league. Hunting with his dogs and fishing were among some of his favorite past times. Don is survived by his children Tanya (Dick) Ringlever of Howard City and Donald (Nicole) Seaborn Jr. of Stanwood; six grandchildren Tony Seaborn, Dirk, Kyle and Lee Ringlever, and Sydney and Taylor Seaborn as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Alma, Genevieve "Jo", Becky, Barbara and Margie. Due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held.
