Donald Richard Scott, age 85, passed away quietly on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at North Brinton Cemetery, Coldwater Township in Isabella County, MI. Don was born on July 14, 1932 in Elsie, Michigan to Harry and Flossie (Gray) Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Flossie and siblings Frank Scott, Truman Scott, Ila Mills and Elaine Mercer. He is survived by his niece Cathy Rendon of Lansing, Terry (Dottie) Scott of Lake, and Robert Mercer of Farwell, and several great nieces and nephews as well as great great nieces and nephews. Don spent the majority of his life farming and enjoyed horses, snowmobiling, pontooning, fishing, hunting and spending time with his dog and best friend Cotton. Although he never married or had children of his own he was influential in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He also dearly enjoyed visiting with his many friends and telling stories.
