Donald R. Isanhart, age 78, of Barryton passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his home. On January 31, 1931 Donald was born in Detroit to Chester and Mary (Wheat) Isanhart. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1960. Don was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. When he had the opportunity he liked to travel. Don was a gifted wood craftsman and good to everyone. He is survived by his former wife and companion Verna Isanhart of Barryton, her three daughters an their families who knew him as Papa and loved him as if he was there own, including Michael Paul Freeman, who's life Don has always had a special influence in, three sisters: Donnabelle (Cleon) McLachlan of Evart, Virginia "Jean" Denslow of Remus, Beverly (Walt) Burger of Farwell, a brother: Larry Isanhart of Missouri, beloved sister-in-law Evelyn Isanhart and several nieces, nephews and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Archie, Leo and Roy. A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Memorial donations in Don's memory may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
