Donald Eugene DeVary, age 74, was welcomed to heaven, with his family by his side, by the out stretched arms of his loving savior, Saturday, September 1, 2007. Don a devoted and loving husband and father, was born December 26, 1932 to Robert and Ruth DeVary, in Lexington, Kentucky. Don married Reva Haney on June 17, 1950 in Remus, Michigan. Don and Reva lived in St. Clair, Michigan for 15 years and enjoyed the last 33 years in Barryton. Don was retired from the Laborers International Local 1098 of Saginaw. He spent many years working for the Western Crude Oil Company. For several years Don looked forward to volunteering with the Barryton Fire Department and spent one year as Assistant Chief. When he was younger he loved horseback riding and fishing. Don was preceded in death by his mother and father, six siblings and his son Robert J. DeVary. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 57 years Reva of Barryton, children Donald (Becky) DeVary of Sparta and Kathrine R. DeVary of Blanchard; six grandchildren Timothy, Anthony, Tamara James, Kyle and Sean DeVary; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with interment at East Fork Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Donald's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
