Obituary

Dolores Marie Worth, age 76 lifelong resident of Chippewa Lake, left us to be with the Good Lord, early Saturday July 28, 2007. She was surrounded by her loving and adoring family and friends. "Dee" was born May 4, 1931 to Edwin and Laura Baker. She graduated from Barryton High School in 1950. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Marsha Lynn Worth and brothers; Arthur Baker and Edwin Baker. Dee married Lawrence Worth Sr. of Chippewa Lake on July 24, 1953. They had two sons who survive; Lawrence Worth Jr. and his wife, Vickie with their two sons; Kyle and Justin and Scott and Penny Worth with their four daughters; Amanda, Randi, Jenni and Sydney, all of Rodney. Also surviving are Dee's sisters; Anna Oesch of Wyoming, MI Margaret Michiels of Ball, LA Brothers; Frederick Baker of Las Vegas, NV Harold Baker of Schofield, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a second husband, Paul P. Koster on January 18, 2000. Dolores participated in several groups and clubs that were an active part of the Chippewa Lake community. She was the longest serving Postmaster in Chippewa Lake history, serving from August 31, 1962 till her retirement on October 1, 1984. Dolores loved her family and friends unconditionally and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was deeply committed to her family, and was the best example of unconditional love her family has ever seen. She found joy in the simple things in life from her plants and flowers to feeding the ducks and geese in front of her home. Special thanks go out to Donna Walch, Becky, Sherrie, Robin and all the girls who gave loving care to Dolores at Cedar Crest A.F.C Home in Remus as well as Hospice of Michigan. A memorial service will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1st at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
