Dolores Constance (Zorovich) Vandawater, age 91, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 in Big Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Big Rapids on November 18, 1931, to John "Jack" and Alma (Dinkel) Zorovich. Dolores was a Big Rapids High School graduate. She married Walter "Eugene" Vandawater and together they made their home and raised their children in the Paris and Big Rapids areas. Dolores was an inspector at Wolverine World Wide for many years before she worked as a custodian at the Mecosta County Court House until she retired. Dolores enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially smelt dipping, making maple syrup, reading, horses, and going to garage sales. Dolores is survived by two sons: Richard Vandawater of Reed City, MI and David (Jo) Vandawater of Richmond, TX; seven grandchildren: Tami (Andrew) Braginton, Tera Wernette, Richard (Shannon) Vandawater, Mallory Jones, John (Christina) Jones, Sasha (DJ) Lindley, and Chantal (Nick) May; eleven great-grandchildren: Becca, Rachael, MacKenzie, Aubrey, Hadleigh, Beau, Jacob, Ryan, Brooke, Paisley, and Mia; several nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver, Randie Hatchew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Eugene" Vandawater, her parents John "Jack" and Alma (Dinkle) Zorovich, and her daughter Diana Jones. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 6th at the Funeral Home. Dolores will be laid to rest at Davenport Cemetery in Barton Township.
