Dolores F. Shortsle, age 93 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at her home. She was born May 9, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Kufski) Pollock. Dolores graduated from Clay High School in Toledo. She married Liguori Shortsle on May 18, 1940 in Toledo. Dolores was employed by Ferris State University as the President's secretary until she retired. After retirement she enjoyed getting together with the Ferris Retirees. Dolores was an organized and efficient woman. She had a green thumb and perfected her flower gardening and yard work. Dolores loved watching the birds, crossword puzzles, crocheting and needle work. She is survived by her son Tom (Fran) Shortsle of Mecosta; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Shortsle of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Askew of Ahoskie, NC; a sister-in-law, Lois Shortsle of Big Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Liguori Shortsle on September 24, 1994; her son Corky Shortsle; her grandson, Ed Shortsle and her parents. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Chris Reitz, a grandson, officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Anne Cemetery in Paris.
