Diane E. Latham, 64, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at her home after fighting a long illness and succumbing in the end to cancer. Diane was born Oct. 2, 1945 to Willard and Naomi (Scott) Beach in Vestaburg, MI. She graduated in 1963 from Vestaburg High School and went to College in Elkhardt, IN to become a Laboratory Technician. Diane married James G. Latham on November 4, 1967 and they resided in Lake, MI their whole lives. Diane worked at Carson City Hospital for a short time before taking a job for the State of Michigan at the Mt. Pleasant Center. She retired in 2002 with over 30 years. During this time she also worked at the BPS Lab in Clare to keep up her Lab Tech skills. Diane participated in social activities as much as she was able with her church family from Gilmore Church of Christ. She enjoyed laughing and conversing with her family and friends and loved animals, especially her dogs and horses. Diane was a loving and caring mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Terrance) Dangler of Lake, MI and son Andrew (Karon) Latham of Mt. Pleasant, MI. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Cole and Teagan Dangler and Alex, Elise and baby Latham, beloved sister, Andrea (Charles) Anderson of Riverdale, MI and many sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Diane was preceded in death by her husband James on November 30, 2006, grandson Connor Dangler, parents Willard and Naomi, and a brother Ethan Beach. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 11:00 am. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Interment will follow at North Brinton Cemetery in Lake. Visitation will be Monday, March 22nd from 3PM to 5PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Woodland Hospice.
