Derrick D. Howard, age 62, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 2, 2023 at his home in Barryton. He was born October 6, 1960 in Detroit, the son of Charles Anderson and Claudine Howard. Derrick graduated from Chippewa Hills High School and received a welding certificate from DeVry University. He worked as a fabricator for many years. Derrick had a passion for music and being outdoors. He loved to listen to jazz music and play the drums. Derrick enjoyed praising the Lord, fishing, and snowmobiling. He appreciated small engines and fast cars. Derrick always helped anyone in need. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his children, Demaris (Cheyenne) Johnson, Monique Howard; grandchildren, Nevaeh Elizhanae Johnson, Spencer Howard; special granddaughter, Kirsten Chavis; step-grandchildren, Xavier and Cali; brother, Willie Howard; several nieces and nephews.
