IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Denny
Woofter
July 13, 1940 – November 18, 2025
Denver D. "Denny" Woofter, age 85, of Caledonia, MI, went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2025. Denny was born on July 13, 1940, in Weston, West Virginia, to Charles and Mary Woofter.
Denny married the love of his life, Lenore, on April 14, 1960, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion, family, and faith. He graduated from Weston High School in 1958 and began his long and dedicated career with A.N.R. Pipeline in 1962. He started as a welder's helper in Laverne, OK and in 1967 transferred to Big Rapids, Michigan, where he worked as a welder before moving into management. Over the years, Denny served as a construction manager, a foreman, and ultimately the superintendent of Austin Gas Fields. He retired from El Paso after 33 years of loyal service.
In 1967, Denny and Lenore settled in Stanwood, Michigan, where they lived for many years and formed lasting friendships within their community. Denny was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his son David (Laura) Woofter of Grand Rapids; granddaughter Samantha (Codie) Nieder; and his great-granddaughters Alexis and Harper of Caledonia, MI. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Bernice, Beulah, Gladys, Jean, Barbara; and three brothers: Chuck (Mary), Robert (Norma) and Norval (Bonnie).
Denny was an avid golfer, and he and Lenore enjoyed spending their winters in Titusville, Florida, where many treasured memories were made. He was a longtime member of Northland Global Methodist Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
A memorial service will be held at Northland Global Methodist Church in Stanwood on November 22, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, with a luncheon to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made in Denny's honor to the church or to Corewell Health Hospice at 25 Michigan St NE, Suite 4100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
