Dennis L. Lutjens, age 64 of Chase, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his home. He was born April 13, 1954 in Big Rapids, the son of Robert and Ruth (Wright) Lutjens. Dennis was a 1972 graduate from Big Rapids High School. He was employed by Babb Ford in Reed City as an Auto Body Technician for many years. Dennis started dating Wanda "Charlene" Pierce in 1997 and they married on June 24, 2006. He enjoyed hunting, working on vehicles, and watching his grandson box. Dennis loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally and wanted them to be happy. He is survived by his wife, Wanda "Charlene" Lutjens of Chase; daughter, Melanie (Dennis) Quirk of Linden; two step-sons, Paul Pierce of Weidman and Coy (Laura) Nelson of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Josie, Lily, Justin, Douglas, Allie, Austin, Bodhi, Rayland, and Shawn; mother, Ruth Lutjens of Cadillac; sister, Kathy (Dennis) Hewitt of Cadillac; brother, Robert (Donna) Lutjens of Tennessee; brother-in-law, Richard Batchelder of Rodney; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Robert Lutjens, sister Sherry Batchelder, and an infant sister. Cremation has taken place through the care of Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
