Denise D. Middleton, age 67, died Monday, October 16, 2023 at Evergreen Terrace in Big Rapids. She was born October 12, 1956 in Big Rapids, the daughter of Alvah and Shirley "Sue" (Jehnzen) Metcalf. Denise was strong, loving, independent, and the life of any party. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, woodworking, camping, and bonfires. Her daughter, grandkids, family and friends were the lights of her life. She enjoyed spending her summers on the boat at the island. Her love, laughter, and smile will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter, Amie (Nick) Gibbs of Grand Ledge; siblings, Janice Maxwell, Terry (John) Bloomquist, Dan (Leona) Metcalf; grandchildren, Calin and Capri Gibbs; many nieces and nephews. Denise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Middleton; brother, Larry Metcalf; and sister-in-law, Connie Metcalf. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Martiny Township Hall in Rodney.
