Denise Marie Kailing, age 46 of Big Rapids, passed away Monday November 22, 2010 at her home. She was born April 2, 1964 in Big Rapids the daughter of Donald E. and Sandra L. (Wilber) Kailing. Denise was born with Cerebral Palsy and had attended school in Big Rapids as long as she was able. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids and an honorary member of Meijer's Gardens in Grand Rapids. Denise will always be remembered as an Angel by her family and those who knew her. She enjoyed all things beautiful and precious. Her love of flowers inspired one of the most beautiful family gardens ever seen. She loved ice cream and all the happy moments that came with it; she loved the color blue and she loved bluebirds of happiness. Her biggest smiles were for her kitty Muffy and her grandpa Wilber, who is waiting for her in heaven. She will be forever loved and missed by her entire family including her parents, Don and Sandy Kailing; her sister Doneen (Kevin) Cole; her grandmother, Thelma Wilber; aunts and uncles, Norman Kailing, Madelyn (Jerry) LaForge, Carol (Gordon) Oliver, Duane (Jessie) Kailing, Marilyn Cope, Gary (Rosemary) Kailing all of Big Rapids and many cousins. Denise was preceded in death by her grandparents; Ed and Mary Kailing, her beloved grandpa, Pierce Wilber; an uncle, Beryl Wilber and 2 aunts, Karen Dominowski and Barbara Kailing. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 26th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends Thursday, (Thanksgiving Day) at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. that evening. The family will also greet friends one hour prior to Mass at the Church on Friday. Memorial contributions in Denise's name may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Bell Tower Project.
