Delores Jean Verburg passed away at her home in Howard City on October 14, 2025. She was born on March 15, 1945 in Grand Rapids to James Tuttle Sr. and Evelyn (Ducavas) Tuttle.

Playful at heart, Delores loved playing cribbage with Dick Verburg and Katie Raymond, taking casino trips, bowling and her pets. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Delores was a skilled seamstress, crafting many quilts and outfits for her family. She spent 25 years as the owner of her own wallpaper and painting business. Delores was an animal lover, adopting many dogs, cats and even a duck.

Delores is survived by her children: Denise (David Nawrot) Bowen and Richard (Stephanie) Worden III; stepson Scott Verburg; brothers: Bob Tuttle and Jim Tuttle Jr.; grandchildren: Stephanie (Matt) Chidester, Brandon Yanick, and Alexandra (Nolan) Quinn; great-grandchildren: Ian and Evan; and her significant other for more than a decade: Richard Verburg.

Delores married Jimmie Lee Verburg in 1975, and they shared 24 years together before his passing in 2009. She is also preceded in death by her stepson, Mark Verburg, as well as both parents.
