Delbert A. Wilcox, age 85, of Morley went to be with Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
He was born and raised on a farm in Deerfield Township, Mecosta County, the son of Melvin and Dora (Earl) Wilcox. In 1953 he graduated from Morley High School.
Upon returning from Great Lakes Naval Basic Training Center in 1954, Delbert married his high school sweetheart Martha. He served 4 years in the Navy aboard the USS Qapaw ATF 110 and was honorably discharged as a 1st Class Radioman. The young couple returned to their hometown where they have since lived and raised a family. Delbert worked most of his adult life at Tubelite in Reed City. He enjoyed Amateur radio, genealogy, and wood working. Delbert is survived by his wife of 66 years Martha (Gardiner) Wilcox; son, Mel (Deb) Wilcox; daughter, Shirley (John) Hyde; grandchildren, Phil (Holly) Wilcox, Beth (Cam) PreFontaine, Sarah (Brian) PreFontaine, Sarah (Brian) Fink, David Hyde, Mark (Shantel Kemper) Hyde, and great-grandchildren, Naomi, Aubrey, Leah, and Isiah Fink. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marjorie Anderson, Evelyn Hadder, Marilyn Speese. A private service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Morley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church.
