Dean E. Hyder, a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend passed away on October 26, 2026 in Big Rapids, Michigan. Dean was born on January 23, 1956, in Lakeview, Michigan to Donald and Bonnie Hyder.

Dean graduated from Rockford Senior High School in 1974 before pursuing further education at the Denver Automotive and Diesel College. He dedicated his career to the automotive industry, working as a Diesel Technician and Shop Foreman with Ryder Transportation, Dermody Truck Sales, and Bollingers Car and Truck Sales.

Throughout his life, Dean was passionate about hunting, fishing, gardening, and metal fabrication. He also took great joy in hobby farming and gardening. Although he didn't always enjoy it, Dean spent many hours cutting wood to heat the family home, a task that he shared with the entire family.

He leaves behind his children, Kristi Hyder and Ken Hyder, siblings Marv (Karen) Hyder and Dale (Bonnie) Hyder, and nieces and nephews Kathryn Skinner, Brock (Katrina) Hyder, Carly (Josh) Stokes, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and dear friends Larry Bell and Karen Gorby. Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Hyder; his parents, Donald Edward and Bonnie Jean Hyder; in-laws Theo and Margie Burden; sister-in-law Rebecca Russeau; and brother-in-law David Burden.

A visitation service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, MI, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will be conducted at Stanwood Cemetery in Stanwood, MI, at 2:15 pm the same day. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, MI.
