David W. Pifer, 66 of Stanwood, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 in Big Rapids. He was born November 12, 1941 in Grand Rapids to Gerald and Bethel (Cook) Pifer. David was honorably discharged from the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Oliver's Products in Grand Rapids, until his failing health ended his career in 1999. David is survived by his wife, Evelyn Pifer of Stanwood 2 children; David Lee Pifer of Howard City Ann Marie (Randy "Pete" ) Bonter of Grant 4 grandchildren, 6 Sisters; Gloria (Wayne) Wagner of Grandville Patricia (Carl Parnel) Rodgers of Grand Rapids Della Miller of Big Rapids Sharon (Charles) Holliday of Morley Phylis (Lynn) Digby of Plainwell Betty (Boyd) Crowe of Chattanooga, TN and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and Three brothers. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26th at the Stanwood Free Methodist Church with Pastor Ron White officiating. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the Heartland Hospice of Michigan.
