David L. Kizer, age 73 of Morley, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2021. He was born November 21, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois the son of Keith and Betty (Rogers) Kizer. Dave graduated from High School in 1965 and he enlisted in the United States Army the next year. He was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam era serving until his honorable discharge in 1969. Dave married Linda Cousineau in 1970 and soon after they moved to their home on the Pond in Morley. He spent 35 years working as an over the road truckdriver and then he drove bus for the Big Rapids School district. Dave was always a very patriotic person, a trait he passed along to his entire family. He loved reading and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Riding was a life style that gave his family many lifelong and cherished friends Dave was known by many as a gentle giant that was thoughtful and caring, he will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends including; his wife of over 50 years, Linda; children, Effie (Mike) Jack of Morley, Travis (Kara) Kizer of Mecosta; niece, Cory (Brandon) Howell of Morley; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann (Paul) Carter of MO, Candy Brown of LA; brothers, Danny (Ann) Kizer of IL, Doug (Jill) Kizer of MN; brother-in-law, Phillip (Diane) Cousineau of MO; sister-in-law, Corinne Cousineau of Morley; mother-in-law, Rosemary Cousineau of Morley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Annette Morgan. An outside funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with burial and military honors to follow at Whipple Cemetery.
